The Costa del Sol – The Perfect Family Holiday Destination

The Costa del Sol in Spain is the perfect destination for a family holiday.  Here are our reasons why you should book your holiday on Spain’s sunshine coast today…

It has great beaches

You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to family-friendly beaches to spend your days on along the Costa del Sol.  Many of the beaches have been awarded blue flag status for their cleanliness and great facilities including toilets, showers and children’s play areas.

There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols for hire at a reasonable price so you can keep your kids in the shade if it gets too hot.  The sand is perfect for sandcastles and the sea is calm and warm in summer months so it’s great for paddling.  There are Chiringuitos; beachside restaurants serving food and drink, all along the coast as well so you can get a bite to eat while you watch the waves lapping the shore.

There are attractions galore!

If your children like to keep busy while on holiday they will love the Costa del Sol.  There are great attractions all along the coast.  Highlights include Fuengirola Biopark Zoo which is full of interesting animals.  The zoo has a real focus on conservation too so it is educational as well as fun.  The zoo is open in the evening during summer months too so that you can view those animals that like to come out at night!

For children that like the water there is a great waterpark on the outskirts of Fuengirola.  Mijas Aquapark has slides that are suitable for children of all ages.  There is a large wave pool and children’s water play areas for those that are not quite big enough for the big slides.  There are snack bars and shower and changing facilities here too so you can spend a whole day here in comfort.  Pack lots of sun cream though as it can get very hot.
